Vinayagar Chathurti special line up on Vijay TV

Chennai, September 11, 2010:

The family entertainer Vijay tv gives lot of special programmes to celebrate vinayagar chathurti (today).
These are the programmes (as per the press release given by vijay tv)

The day begins at 0630 hrs in the morning with Krishna Vijayam, rendition of devotional songs, followed by Pillayar Patti a special program highlighting the Pillayar Patti temple, Popular Ganesha Songs would add fervor to the program.

0900 hrs Neeya Naana the most watched debate show discusses on ‘how the current generation of kids need to be treated – stern or liberal ’.  Gopinath being the host of the show witness’s emotional and diverse views from two groups debating on the topic. 

1030 hrs Anu chats over a Koffee with Stars of the Movie Boss Engira Baskaran Arya and Nayantara.

1130 hrs, Vijay TV airs the Program of the Day ‘Super Star Veetu Kalyanam’ a two hour special with great footage from the Soundarya Rajinkanth Marriage which was attended by the Who’s Who of the film Industry and distinguished guests from other fields. 

1330 hrs premieres the super hit film Pudhukottai Azhagan starring Nagarjuna and Trisha which would be followed by a sneak peek of the soon to be releases Movies Maina & Vande Mataram. at 1630 & 1730 hrs respectively.

At 1900 hrs Athu Idhu Yedhu the comedy game show features Super Cool Villains namely Cool Suresh, Sampath Ram and Aryan. It’s a laugh riot guaranteed with Sivakarthikeyan. At 2000 hrs the special comedy show ‘Pillaiyar Suzhi’ would feature comedians Badava Gopi, Jodi No.1 fame Balaji, Delhi Ganesh and Pushpavanam Kuppuswamy in a role reversal.

To cap the festive day at 2200 hrs Vijay TV would air the new celebrity based game show ‘Kadhal Meter’ a show on celebrity compatibility.




Marg Science park coming up Swarna Boomi

 MARG Limited announced the setting up of the MARG Science Park, a world class facility for cutting edge research in life sciences technologies, at MARG Swarnabhoomi. the group's mega residential project.  The foundation stone for the Science Park was laid by Dr. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Chief, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; Director General, TERI; & Head - Yale Energy and Climate Institute. Dr. Pachauri shares the 2007 Noble Prize for peace with Al Gore on Climate Change for the Intergovernmental Panel’s work to alert the world to the threat of global warming.

MARG Science Park will be spread over 40 acres and would house world class ready-to-use wet laboratory space for research in various sectors of life sciences such as biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, contract research, nanotechnology, agri–technology, medical devices etc. The state of the art facility will be complemented with excellent lifestyle amenities and business support services to make it a favoured destination for the top players of the life sciences industry.  A Technology Incubator Centre to support start ups in life sciences and a Bio–IT Zone suitable for bio informatics & data centers will also be a part of the Science Park. MARG Science Park would be the first Platinum Rated Science Park in the country. It is already a member of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), the largest global network of Science and Technology Parks.  The Park will have a working alliance with International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), a United Nations agency, for setting up an integrated agro-processing zone in the Science Park consisting of an agro-incubation centre, testing lab etc. This would give impetus to agri-related research and commercialization of research outputs from ICRISAT.

A Technology Incubation Center (TIC) will be created with support from the Government of India to facilitate start-up incubation in life sciences research and would consist of laboratory modules for research and development. The TIC would be augmented by a sophisticated instrumentation facility and a pilot plant essentially for technology, scale up and trial production to be hired by the clients in the TIC as and when required.

Muthoot pappachan group’s anti-ragging roadshow concluded in Chennai



Chennai, 12, 2010: Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Muthoot Pappachan Group, rolled out India’s first national anti-ragging campaign called ‘Bus Aur Nahin (meaning ‘Enough, No More of Ragging’) on 11th August 2010 at New Delhi. This 11 city, month long anti-ragging awareness campaign was concluded today at Loyola College after visiting over 50 colleges across the country. Mr. T K Rajend ran, IPS, ADGP, Tamil Nadu and Mr. Thomas George Muthoot, Director, Muthoot Pappachan Group, officially concluded the campaign today, by signing against India’s longest anti-ragging signature canvas and folding the anti-ragging flag.


Thomas George Muthoot, Director, Muthoot Pappachan Group, said, “Ragging destroys the will and motivation of the most promising amongst students, targeting particularly those who concentrate on academic achievement. The Muthoot Pappachan Foundation is glad to be the first corporate house in India to take up the matter of ragging nationwide. We are proud that this campaign has also been a platform for over 40,000 students across the country to pledge that they will never rag their juniors.”

India’s longest running anti-ragging bus which has covered over 5000 kilometers, after visiting colleges in Chennai, New Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Kottayam and Trivandrum was halted for display at Chennai. The signature canvas which has over 40,000 signatures of students across the country who have signed pledging that they will never rag their juniors was also displayed.

The entire campaign which was rolled out by Muthoot Pappachan Foundation created awareness about the menace of ragging through social networking platforms like Facebook and twitter as well. Students across the country have expressed their solidarity for this campaign through these social networking sites. The entire event was recorded and uploaded on Facebook<www.facebook.com/busaurnahin2010> for people across the country to view. The ‘Bus Aur Nahin’ anti-ragging roadshow was also supported with two short public service films that were telecasted over major national news and youth-focused channels.

Hyundai domestic sales up 17.2%



New Delhi, September 1, 2010: Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter continued to be on a growth trajectory with the domestic sales growing by 17.2% over the same month last year.

HMIL’s total sales for August, 2010 stood at 50,636 units as against 49,521 units in August, 2009 registering a 2.3 % cumulative growth over the same period last year. The domestic sales accounted for 28,601 units as against 24,401 units in August, 2009 while the exports declined by 12.3 % from 25,120 units in August, 2009 to 22,035 units in August, 2010.

Commenting on August, 2010 sales, Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “The domestic demand continues to be strong and we have constraints in production due to some components supply. We are changing our production mix to meet this increased demand in the domestic market. We expect the demand in the domestic market to be even stronger in the coming festival season.”
